IN NEED OF A BODYGUARD?

In Need Of Bodyguards?
Have you ever doubted the power of prayer? Allow me to reshape that doubt, Mr. Thomas. (Ms. Doubtfire...?)
As we often like to begin in fantasy and folklore, 'Once upon a time...'
A missionary on furlough told this story while visiting his home church in Michigan. "While serving at a small field hospital in Africa, every two weeks I traveled by bicycle through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies. This was usually a two-day trip, which required camping overnight at the halfway point...
On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city where I planned to collect money from a bank, purchase medicine and supplies, and then begin my two-day journey back to the field hospital. Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting, one of whom had been seriously injured. I treated him for his injuries and at the same time talked to him about God...
I then traveled two days, camping overnight, and arrived home without incident...
Two weeks later I repeated my journey. Upon arriving in the city, I was approached by the young man I had treated. He told me that he had known I carried money and medicines. He said to me, "Some friends and I followed you into the jungle, knowing you would camp overnight. We planned to kill you and take your money and drugs. But just as we were about to move into your camp, we saw that you were surrounded by 26 armed guards."
...At this I laughed and said that I was certainly all alone in that jungle campsite.
But the young man pressed the point, however, and said, "No sir, I was not the only person to see the guards. My five friends also saw them, and we all counted them. It was because of those guards that we were afraid and left you alone."
At this point in the sermon, one of the men in the congregation jumped to his feet and interrupted the missionary, asking if he could tell him the exact day this happened. The missionary told the congregation the date, and time of day, and the man who had interrupted recounted this story: "On the night of your incident in Africa, it was morning here and I was preparing to go play golf. I was about to putt when I felt the urge to pray for you. In fact, the urging of the Lord was so strong, I called men in this church to meet with me here in the sanctuary to pray for you. Would all of those men who met with me on that day stand up?" The men who had met together to pray that day all stood up.
The missionary wasn't concerned with who they were, he was too busy counting how many men he saw. There were 26 men standing!
If you think this is fantasy, folklore, or, as we say in these parts, 'fabu,' that decision is entirely yours. If however you have faith in the power of making the seemingly incredible to become magically possible, and this story speaks to you from within, all I ask for is that the Spirit of the Lord moves in such mysterious ways to guide and protect you, your loved ones and all who pray with, and for you.
Perhaps you have a friend who needs a prayer at this very moment. Are you willing to be his/her bodyguard? Remember the ultimate words of faith: 'With God all things are possible."
God's guidance, blessings and protection, always.

4 REASONS WE FIND IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO FORGIVE

There are several reasons why people refuse to release others who have trespassed.

1.  We believe we are in the right and they are in the wrong, and we wait for the other person to get the revelation of the error of their ways, humbling himself or herself before us and confessing he or she was in the wrong. If you wait for the other person, you may go to your grave disappointed.

The second reason we hold back iisthe idea that the other person is so wrong in his attitude that God will judge him fofor his actions,  and thus we leave him alone in hope that God will smite him in some manner to teach him a lesson and bring him crawling back to say, 'I AM SORRY'

THE third reason is we do not understand the importance of forgiveness, that it is not just to release the other person, but forgiving others is actually for us, to prevent our blessings from being restrained and hindered through unforgiveness.

The fourth reason is a five lettered word called P-R-I-D-E. Our love for self and our personal ego are stronger than our common sense and spiritual motivation. If I am commanded in the word, then I must choose to agree with and follow the command to release the blessings of the covenant.

THE 9 MOST DANGEROUS ATTITUDE THAT WOULD LEAD TO POVERTY

If you practice these 9 habits you are inches away from a poverty stricken and unpleasant life. If you practice any of the 9 make conscious effort to make a change.

1. Never take responsibility for their      actions but blame others for all their woes including their forebears.

2. They never learn to see failure as a stepping stone to achieving their dreams. Once hit by a problem, they stay down with it.

3. They are master story tellers of how things used to be good for them in the past.

4. Terrific pessimists, they always see the problem in every idea and hold on to it as excuse not to try out any idea.

5. Island of Knowledge, they think highly of themselves and feel they know everything.

6. They have no idea of what they want to make of their lives and follow the wind.

7. They are misers, live with the thought that they do not have enough resources to meet their needs. So they are perpetual receivers

8. Comfort zone specialist. Not willing to change, try out new ways of getting things done

9. They procrastinate the most important tasks and dwell on less important ones.

NOT YET...

"Manoah, of the tribe of Dan, lived in Zorah. His wife could not have children.
The Lord sent an angel to her. He said, ‘You have no children. You thought that you could not have children. But you will have a son" (Judges 13:2-3, Easy English Version).

Sometimes we get so used to lack that we seem to lose the drive and ability to do something better with life. And we could become so overwhelmed by the challenges of life that we begin to think that we are at the end of the road. But God does not want to use our present limitations to judge our future expectations. No matter what may be going on in your life right now, God wants you to know that there are more positive possibilities in your tomorrow than the picture your today presents.

Mrs Manoah had no children. She had gotten so used to her barrenness that she actually thought that she could not have children. So the first thing the angel came to do was to change her mindset. You thought that you could not have children, but I am here to announce to you that you will conceive and bear a son. So many of us are like Mrs Manoah. If you are out there thinking that you won't make it in life, I am here to tell you to quit believing such a lie from the pit of hell.

The God who created you has wired you to make it in this life. Don't let anything you have gone through or are going through make you think that you can't get a job, or you won't get married, have children, build your own house, start your own business, build your career, or accomplish some other great things in life. God says you can and you will. That settles it. Keep your eyes and mind on what God has said. Believe it firmly with your whole heart. Get irreversibly committed to walking in step with the thoughts and words of God over your life, and you are well on your way to fulfilling all your good dreams.

Finally, don't let any devil tell you that you cannot walk with God and serve Him. In fact, such an idea is an insult to God. You know, He made you to fellowship with Him. To now think that you cannot be what God made you to be insults God's integrity, creativity, ingenuity and perfection. Please don't be part of such nonsense. You can walk with God. If you can't, the all-knowing God won't require it from you. Friends, brace up for a great and exciting time of walking with God and serving Him. With God on your side and willingness in your mind, you will make a good success of your time here on earth.

THY FOOT WILL NOT BE TAKEN

"For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken" (Proverbs 3:26).

Confidence belongs to the family of courage, boldness and determination. Wherever you see confidence, you will also see sterling endurance and a refusal to give up. Where you find all these things, victory, success and fulfilment are often inevitable. God wants you to approach life with confidence. And we are not just talking about the self assurance that is rooted in mortal man, for that has its limits. Rather we are talking about the confidence that is rooted in God. If you will follow God and obey His words, you will have enough confidence with which to handle life. You will have the confidence that won't fail because it is resting on a divine force. It is the confidence of God.

Thank God that the believer can have access to this confidence because he has not received the spirit of fear which brings about oppression, torment, defeat and failure (2 Timothy 1:7). Rather, God has given us the Spirit of love, of power and of a sound mind which engenders super confidence. The child of God has confidence to relate with divinity, for we have confidence by the blood of Jesus to come into the presence of the almighty God and call Him Father. That privilege is accessible only to those who have received Jesus Christ into their lives as personal Lord and Saviour. Such have received the Spirit of God, the Spirit of adoption whereby they could call God Father. They are no longer slaves, strangers or aliens, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God. Consequently, they have the confidence of a dear child in the household of a loving Father. That brings constant victory and good success to life and living.

The confidence that the Spirit of God produces in you puts you in a good stead to resist the devil. Child of God, I say to you, dare to resist the devil. God's command to those who have submitted to Him is: "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). Sometimes people have asked me to help them beg the devil to stop oppressing them. My normal response is that I don't do such jobs. I don't beg Satan. He is too small to earn such respect from me or any child of God for that matter. He is such a crap who does not deserve the dignity of your supplication. The one who supplicates God cannot also be begging the devil at the same time. God forbid! So, we resist the devil because that is what the Bible tells us to do.

The confidence that the Spirit of God produces in you also infuses into you all that you need to confront your challenges. Child of God, I say to you again, dare to confront your challenges. Challenges are part of life and they are meant to be solved. You commence the process of solving your challenges by confronting them and not by running away from them. The challenges of life want you to shift your ground, change your convictions, abandon your dreams and look away from what God has said and settled. But you must dare to stand your ground even if all other grounds around you are shifting and shaking. Here's what I've found, if you run away from challenges, they tend to run after you and overtake you. But if you will defend your lot, you stand to gain a lot in life.

BLESSINGS IN DISABILITIES JOHNSON OATMAN 'COUNT YOUR BLESSING'

Gipsy Smith, a famous evangelist of yesteryear, said of this song, “Men sing it, boys whistle it and women rock their babies to sleep to it.”
Johnson Oatman, Jr., born April 21, 1856, was a citizen of Lumberton, N.J. His dad was a local merchant and just happened to be the best singer in town, with a rich, powerful voice. Young Johnson could not sing as well as his father, yet he grew up wanting to make some musical contributions of his own. However, for a time he worked in the family business, but soon gave up those opportunities and began to study for the ministry. After finishing school and ministering in the Methodist Episcopal churches for a time, Johnson continued to hope that life surely held some other plans for him.
At 36, he realized that he did, without question, have a musical talent after all. He could write songs for other Christians to sing. So, every year some 200 songs flowed from his pen. He eventually had written 5,000 songs and was happy that in his musical compositions he had found a way to “preach the Gospel.”
Of all the songs Oatman wrote. he seemed to claim as his own favorites, “No, Not One” and “Higher Ground.”
However, people everywhere seemed to adopt another of his very special songs, “Count Your Blessings,” written in 1897. Almost immediately it began its meteoric journey.
All too often, in this great land of America, we seem to lapse into a state of ingratitude, taking for granted all of the blessings and comforts we enjoy. We revert into an attitude of self-satisfaction, expecting that peace and bliss will always follow us. During those times we should, with sincerity of heart, count our blessings!
In this story our attention is called to three things: a very special song, a delightful season of the year and a wonderful celebration observed in America. Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving Day, is a holiday that we celebrate on the fourth Thursday in November. It became an official Federal holiday in 1863, when President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed it a national day of “Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.”
Oatman died in Norman, Okla. in 1922. Through his songs he continues to minister to millions.
When upon life billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged thinking all is lost.
Count your many blessings every doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.
Chorus:
Count your blessings, name them one by one.
Count your blessings, see what God has done.
Count your blessings, name them one by one.
Count your many blessings see what God has done.
Count Your Blessings was set to music by E. O. Excell, the gentleman who arranged the melody that we use when singing “Amazing Grace.”
In everything give thanks:
for this is the will of God in
Christ Jesus concerning you.
