SPIRITUAL DRYNESS

Jesus said ‘whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them’, John 7:38.
However, we do not always maintain that vital connection to God perfectly. And therefore all of us experience seasons where we feel spiritually dry.

Evangelist D.L Moody was asked why he lay so much emphasis on being filled with the Holy Spirit, he wisely said, because I leak.

Spiritual dryness is not a problem in itself, in fact the awareness of our spiritual dryness is a gift from God. It is His invitation to come and partake of His life and His Spirit.

Spiritual dryness does become a problem if we:
- do not recognize that we are becoming depleted, or do not recognize that God is the answer to our need, or become too exhausted to connect with God.

It is important for us to recognize the signs of depletion as early as possible..

1.    Giving while empty or weary: A sign of spiritual dryness is     that we  are no longer giving to others out of a sense of         fullness.     We feel empty as if something is missing. One         become burn out.
2.    Serving out of duty: When we are spiritually dry there is a     subtle shift in our motivation to serve God, whether in the     church or elsewhere. Our motivation to continue serving may     be that others are relying on us, or we want to honour a         commitment, or even feel a duty towards God.
3.    Our faith is no longer contagious: According to David in the     psalms, it is the joy of our salvation that results in us leading     people to God, Psalm 51:12-13. When we are spiritually dry, it     affects our relationship with those who do not know Jesus, we     lost our joy to evangelize the lost souls. People are not seeing     something in us that causes them to thirst for God.
4.    God feels distant: When we feel a gradual distancing from     God. Either we are not encountering Him regularly, or we are     not hearing from Him, or we are hearing Him speak to us     intermittently, Psalm 139:17-18
5.    Negative Thinking: Rom 14:17, When we are spiritually     dry the atmosphere of heaven righteousness, peace and joy     seems to evade us. Instead, we find it easier to give way to     negative thinking. We falter in our ability to resist and cast     down destructive thoughts and emotions.
The good news is that when we are spiritually dry. God has already initiated and provided the answer to our need.

AREA FATHER, CHARLY BOY MET JESUS

Copied from naij.com
The weird one known simply as Charly Boy said he has found Christ.

He is born again but wait a minute, not like the usual born again. Charly Boy declared he met with Jesus and he was given a mandate which he is read to adhere to.

Will he change his way of life? What exactly did Jesus told the Area Fada? What about his membership of the dreaded cult Illuminati? Charly Boy explains in the excerpt of an interview he granted Encomium magazine.
Controversial Nigerian entertainer and media personality, Charly Boy.

Can you tell us about your encounter with Jesus?

My encounter with Jesus was the freakiest moment, and if you read the piece I wrote, it is just saying that God really wants us to be real but the Nigeria perception about Jesus and how it works is just too Nigerian for my liking. They look at Jesus/God as babalawo or the pastors make some sacrifices and bring some money and goats and all the problems will disappear. It doesn’t happen like that and these days people are not going to church to nurture their spirituality. Rather, it is either they are looking for babies, wife or husband or promotion. It is all about the wrong reasons for being a Christian. So, God was just telling me that in most of these churches they don’t have anything to do with Christ or God. They are there for business. I was wondering what does Jesus want from me? Is it for me to intensify my campaign for the hopeless, the downtrodden, people who have been consumed by this wickedness in the country. There are a lot of nice people who are losing their niceties because they don’t know what else to do. They are just hopeless.

Hopelessness is hanging over their head. They are frustrated, confused and they want to stay good because they were born good but they are losing their goodness because of the battle of survival. Like a young lady, who has been brought up in a humble and decent home but because she is looking for a job that is not there and her parents cannot afford to take care of her anymore, she is industrious and nobody to help. Finally, she resorts to prostitution, whereas under normal circumstances, she wouldn’t go that direction but it is just out of desperation. So, those are the souls I am hoping to capture before they go completely bad. This is what the environment has turned out.

Can you please tell us the things Jesus told you to stop doing?
All those contrived stuff that Charly Boy did and not me as Mr. Oputa, they have been outgrown. So, I have left them for other people who want to continue the madness.
Will you say you have denounced the Illuminati group you used to head in Nigeria?
Na una talk am, no bi me talk am. I don’t even know what Illuminati is. I have asked if they are the people who give us light. They said, no, it is a cult that. I wonder why I am so broke.
