FROM ZERO-HOOD TO HERO-HOOD

"And Joshua had said to the two men who had spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring the woman out from there, and all that she has, as you swore to her" (Joshua 6:22, Modern King James Version).

Perspective is important. A lot in life depends on the angle from which you view things. A glass of water that some see as half empty is seen by others as half full. While Israel's army saw a powerful Philistine giant to be feared in Goliath, David saw in him an uncircumcised Philistine whose head should be taken off for defying the people of God. Those who saw a powerful Philistine giant fled before Goliath in terror. But the stripling who saw an uncircumcised Philistine ultimately succeeded in taking off Goliath's head without much ado. Perspective will always deliver after its own kind.

The world saw in Rahab a harlot to be dumped after being used to satisfy the sinful lust of men. But Joshua saw a woman with a future, if only she could be rightly nurtured and mentored in a conducive environment. And so, he told the two spies to go into the harlot's house, and bring the woman out from there. Joshua's positive statement of faith may very well be the foundation for the eventual transformation of Rahab from a despicable prostitute into a woman of substance who Providence gave a place in the prestigious ancestry of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I wish we all could understand that there is a real woman in every prostitute on the street. I wish we knew that there is a person of destiny in every juvenile case in our communities. I wish parents would understand that there is a success hiding in every deviant child. If we have the right perspective, nurture the right attitude toward them, and take appropriate steps, we can bring out the real woman in every prostitute, the person of destiny in every juvenile case, and the quality individuals tucked away in the deviant youngsters creating problems in our homes.

The letter 'o' may be the last letter in the word 'zero', but remember that it is also the first in the word 'opportunity'. The end of something is always the beginning of another thing, and it is significantly up to you to decide what beginning it would be. Don't get angry and complain of delay when the coconut is yet to drop off from the tree. Rather, see it as a period of ripening so that you can have your coconut in a sweeter and more nutritious form. The same conditions of life that frustrated some and made them to commit suicide have driven others to think and challenged them to greatness. When you learn to have the right perspectives in life, life will respond by giving you its best.

Let me add this vital point as I close. The greatest tool with which to correctly shapen and sharpen your perspectives on any aspect of life remains the word of God. God, being the omniscient one has the most correct perspective on every issue from marriage and family to business, politics entertainment and health. The word of God which contains His thoughts on every matter can surely help us to nurture the right attitude. When you align yourself with the word of God and agree with God's judgment on every issue, you will have the correct perspective that brings you the best in every circumstance.

LOOKING UNTO JESUS

THE REIGN OF CARNAL CHRISTIANS - REVD OLUWAMUYIWA OKUSEINDE

"And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?" (1 Corinthians 3:1-3).

To be carnal simply means to be worldly. When the focus of a Christian is on the material things of this world, and he emphasizes the physical, emotional and intellectual more than the spiritual, such a Christian is referred to as being carnal. Man is naturally carnal, but a major purpose of salvation through Christ Jesus is to rescue us from our bondage to carnality so that we can be free to experience and enjoy the spiritual nature of God, and also be able to worship God in spirit and in truth.

The signs of carnality are listed for us in the Bible. These are inability to tolerate deeper spiritual truths that demands total consecration, abundant display of the works of the flesh listed in Galatians 5:19-21, and focus on man rather than God. In summary, the carnal Christian is the immature Christian. He belongs to the group who are ever learning but are never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. The danger of such a lifestyle is that we risk the displeasure of God. Indeed, being carnal puts you at risk of not making it to the kingdom of God. At the end of the day, you find out that you have only played church all your Christian life and wasted your time.

The multiplication of carnal Christians and the growing materialism in today's church should be a source of concern to all well-meaning Christians, especially because it portends great danger to the advancement of God's kingdom on earth. A carnalised Christianity is of no value, neither to the church nor to the world. It yields no profit to God nor does it bring any eternal gains to the carnal believer. It is time to quit the carnal Christian life.

Getting out of carnality would require deepening your spiritual roots. There are three principal instruments for accomplishing this. First, the word of God, which must be read and meditated upon on a daily basis. Jesus affirmed that the spiritual life is lived on the basis of every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Secondly, the spiritual life is built through selfless prayers that focus more on consecration to the will of God and intercession for the advancement of the kingdom of God. When your prayer life is all about your selfish desires and what God must do for you, you are indirectly feeding the carnal man in you.

Finally, there must be a constant readiness to fellowship with Christians who are not carnal. Indeed, it has to be emphasized that in getting out of carnality and in order to insulate yourself from same, the company you keep is of primary importance. You need to ensure, for instance, that the church you attend and your circle of friends do not feed the carnal man in you. You should be careful to avoid any Christian assembly whose focus is centred on materialism and carnal accomplishments. Conforming to the image of Christ should be the primary and secondary focus of Christians and the church.

HOW I WISH!

How I wish all of us will call a spade, a spade a sin, a sin, & a saint, a saint,
...........
How I wish all the messenger of Jesus will fix their eyes on the ultimate goal like Apostle Paul.

How I wish we all join hands today, to pray for genuine revival.
.................
How I wish we shun denominational abracadabra to love beyond boundary.
.............
How I wish you believe this is possible.

Failure Is Just A Fertilizer To Grow Bigger & Better - Dr Segun Oshinaga

Every discovery in human existence went through a long tunnel of failure before turning to success. Ask Thomas Edison. Ten thousand experiments on the bulb failed. Imagine ten thousand failed experiments! When his assistant got tired, discouraged and canvassed for an abandonment of the project, Edison told him, 'No, we have not failed ten thousand times, but have learnt ten thousand ways of not doing it.' He then went on to stamp his name, forever indelibly, on the world's hall of fame.
Failure is not a tangible evidence of genetic inferiority. But failure can be a fatal blow to fragile egos. You need to understand that failure is only an indication of, may be, wrong methods, timing and sundry other factors.
Hear me, the long failure tunnel eventually lead to Success Boulevard. I was praying one day when I heard the Lord say to me, 'setback is actually ladder for setup.' For a long time, I did not understand this powerful concept. But over a long time, I have received bits and pieces of revelations about this truth. I am sure that the day Apostle John was deported to the Island of Patmos, there was weeping and tears. To the early church, it was apparently a setback, to put it mildly. But the church would never have received the book of Revelation, detailing the last days' events if that setback did not take place.
Sometimes, the way up is down. Understanding that failure or setback is only temporary and not allowing it to diminish your enthusiasm and passion is very important. A never say die spirit is truly the triumphant attitude. Whatever you're going through today, my counsel to you is don't give up! Stay the course, keep trusting, the Lord will meet you halfway the journey.

THE PERFECT ROUTE TO PROSPERITY

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD" (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Most people I know desire positive changes in life. And God is all for positive changes taking place in our respective lives from day to day. Make no mistake about it: God wants things to change for you from bad to good, from poverty to blessings, from darkness to light, and from unrighteousness to righteousness. However, as today's Scripture points to us, the quality, speed and variety of the change you will experience have a lot to do with your focus. When your focus is on the Lord and His glory, you are set for a continuous change that takes you from one realm of glory to another.

But often times, many of us don't focus on the Lord. Some, for example, focus on their problems. You know they are fixated on their problems because that is what they think and talk about all the time. A focus on your problems will not produce the change you need. Some are experts on analysing problems. By the time they are through with their copious analysis, the problem becomes magnified. If you stay too long around such people or you are of such makeup, the chances are that you will end up not knowing what to do. Yes, it is important to have a correct analysis of a problem, but that must always be done with the specific purpose of finding solutions. When analysis results in paralysis, something must be definitely wrong.

It was Socrates, that Greek philosopher of repute who was quoted as saying, “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new”. The 'old' is the problem on ground, the 'new' is the solution that must replace the problem. While it is good to know where you are coming from, it is perhaps more important to know where you are going. History is definitely of tremendous importance to human society, but the truth remains that much progress is never made when you keep looking backwards. The ultimate purpose of history is to teach us how to go forward by showing us how those who went before us made progress. History also tells us the limits of their advancements and what limited them so that we may learn to overcome their limitations and surpass achievements.

So for those of us who desire the change that God brings, our focus must be on the Lord and not on anything or anyone else. We must keep beholding the Lord, for it is in doing so that we create room for the Holy Spirit to work out our desired change. We must realize like David that our sentence or vindication can only come from God. We should emulate him and similarly confess, "As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness" (Psalms 17:15)

IS GOD STILL ANGRY WITH ME? PRT 6

My Friends, my foes

Acrobatic thoughts was all I had that night. Why are they angry?, am not so sure or could it had been something else.

Not knowing I have add mileage to a journey of 15minutes, 2hrs within a spot clouded by massaging thought.
Threw myself into prayers, asking and answering my questions, flipped the passages of my bible. I am sure the papers were angry with me for soaking them in the sea from my eye.

5.00am from 10pm, the answer came, Son, why spend time piercing yourself in self pity. Why choose to please men? why ignored the basics? why pretend as if you don't know it is your fault. Like Lazarus from the tomb, the shawl of hell were cast off. Me ke? (How?)..

A year earlier we were looking out for brethren to fill the vacant post in the school fellowship, instead of us waiting on God to choose for us, we decided to appoint & elect those brethren who had been proactive without probing further through the Holy Ghost.
We assumed they must be born again after-all, they never show any sign to suggest otherwise. Even when we were warned to wait, we chose to elect them.

Before, the hibernation i explained when I started this series, we had complaint from several corner of being abuse verbally or sexually.
Trust me, out of ignorance, as a  leader, i shut them. I remembered a night when the Lord warned me in a dream about a man hindering the rain, yet i ignored it. That was one of the things that led to the spiritual exile I explained in the first part.
They were actually angry because Brother Kunbi is a jambito (a year student) who is on fire for God,  he had been seen with me severally since I returned from the mountain. I had allowed him to minister several times in the last few weeks. He had prophesied openly without I cautioning him. They felt threatened by this synergy and an impeding exposee.

Did I tell you, Bro Kunbi was poisoned at the last drama night?, how did I forget that? He was indeed poisoned, the culprit we did not know even when I formerly report at the security unit of the school. We were told to report daily for close to 3weeks, it was an effort in futility.

Thank God for the brethren who didn't only pray but contributed money to treat the brother.
Though he suffered, he survived but not without a revelation on the sick bed when he saw those who perpetrated the act. He actually told me.
The truth is, the wolves and goats are on a serious increase in the folds but church leaders chose to ignore this fact and are pampering them, for reasons  best known to them. They have took over the pulpit.. o ma se (what a pity)
Let's meet again..is God still angry with me?

EXPERIENCING THE MASTER'S POWER: OVERCOMING FAITH

I bless God for granting you the grace to make it to church this Sunday,  despite the serious business Satan have given to many to take them away from God's presence.
As part of experiencing the master's power, we shall be looking at the topic OVERCOMING FAITH from John 11:17-27 perspective

1. Overcoming faith takes overwhelming trials to the Lord

We all know that God is the author and giver of life and that He alone has the power to raise the dead physically. But we also know that both in the Bible and in human history, resurrections from the dead are rare. There are a few in the Old Testament (1 Kings 17:17-24; 2 Kings 4:17-37; 13:21). The Gospels record that Jesus raised three people from the dead: The widow of Nain’s son (Luke 7:11-17); Jairus’ daughter (Luke 8:41-56); and Lazarus. Notably, He did not raise John the Baptist when he was martyred at a fairly young age. The Lord didn’t raise James, the brother of John, when Herod executed him. Peter raised Dorcas and Paul raised Eutychus (Acts 9:35-41; 20:9-12). So we can’t know why God raised a few and not others, even though He has the power to raise anyone He pleases.
But the rare examples that we have are pictures of what God does spiritually every time He saves a sinner. Paul says that all of us by nature were dead in our trespasses and sins, but that God graciously made us alive together with Christ (Eph. 2:1-5). The salvation of a sinner is no less a miracle than the raising of a dead body. It requires the same power that God used when He raised Christ from the dead (Eph. 1:19-20). And if God can do that, then He can come to our aid and work according to His sovereign purpose when we are in overwhelming situations. So, we should follow the example of these friends of Jesus by taking our need to Him.

2. Overcoming faith trusts that God is in control of all our circumstances

Martha and Mary both said the same thing to Jesus (11:21, 32), “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.” Commentators differ over whether the sisters were complaining or expressing strong faith by their comments. They obviously had faith in Jesus’ ability to heal their brother, if only He had been there.

But mixed with that faith is some unbelief. Surely Martha and Mary had heard how Jesus had healed the royal official’s son from a distance (4:46-54). Jesus didn’t have to be physically present to heal Lazarus before he died. So the sisters’ comments reflect a failure to recognize that God was in control of where Jesus was when Lazarus got sick and how quickly or slowly Jesus responded when He got the news.

But most of us have thought just as Martha and Mary thought in this trial: If only things had been different! We replay in our minds: “If only I had not done what I did, the accident would not have happened!” “If only the timing had been different, the tragedy would not have happened!” But it’s really a contradiction to say, “Lord, if only things had been different.” If He’s the Lord, then He is in control of all our circumstances. Surely, He wasn’t asleep or distracted when our tragedy happened!

3. Overcoming faith does not limit God.

Martha’s opening comments to Jesus are a bit mixed up, although true to life when someone is grieving (11:21-22), “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. Even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.” In verse 21, she limits the Lord’s ability to heal by His physical presence and with regard to time (He could have done something, if only He had been there four days sooner); but in the next verse she affirms His ability to ask God for anything and receive it.

4. Overcoming faith trusts in the promises of God regarding eternity.

After the Lord tells Martha that her brother will rise again (11:23), she replies (11:24), “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Although she missed the drift of Jesus’ promise to raise Lazarus that very day, Martha did express her faith in God’s promises regarding eternity. There are several Old Testament promises regarding the future resurrection of the dead (Ps. 16:9-11; 17:15; 49:15; 73:24, 26; Job 19:25-27; Isa. 26:19; Dan. 12:2). And the New Testament even more clearly affirms that the dead will be raised (1 Cor. 15). Jesus taught (John 5:28-29), “Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.”

5. Overcoming faith personally applies God’s truth in the present.

As we’ve seen, Martha should be commended for believing God’s promises regarding eternity. But Jesus meant for her to apply that promise to the present situation. He wanted her to believe that He could and would raise Lazarus that very day.

General faith for the future is easier than specific faith for the present trial. It’s easier to believe that someday God will work all our trials together for good than it is to believe that He is presently working this trial for good.

6. Overcoming faith centers in the person of Jesus Christ.

Jesus said (11:4) that this miracle would result in “the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by it.” Jesus revealed His glory both by showing His power in calling Lazarus from the tomb and also by His words to Martha (11:25-26): “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” This is the fifth of Jesus’ “I am” statements in John. It is clearly a claim to deity; no one other than God in human flesh could say what Jesus says here. He does not merely say that He can impart resurrection and life, which would be amazing enough. He says that He is the resurrection and the life. Those qualities are part and parcel of His being.

In claiming “I am the resurrection,” Jesus was referring to what He said in 5:28-29, that one day He will speak and all the dead from all times will arise, some to eternal life and others to judgment. Jesus further explains this when He adds (11:25), “he who believes in Me will live even if he dies.” “Live” has the sense of, “come to life” and refers to “the final resurrection of believers at the last day”

7. Overcoming faith believes what it knows and grows from there.

Martha affirms her faith in Christ (11:27): “Yes, Lord; I have believed that You are the Christ, the Son of God, even He who comes into the world.” This is a tremendous confession of faith, on a par with Peter’s great confession (Matt. 16:16), “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Martha realized that Jesus was the promised Messiah. “He who comes into the world” clarifies or re-emphasizes His messianic role.

We can’t know for sure how much theological truth Martha, Peter, John the Baptist (John 1:34), and Nathaniel (1:49) knew when they confessed that Jesus was the Son of God. At the very least, they were connecting it to God’s promise to David, that God would be a Father to his sons and that they would sit on his throne forever (2 Sam. 7:13-14; Psalm 2:7).

If You Are Not Distracted, You Can't Be Defeated - Dr Segun Oshinaga

It is amazing how many people expect to accomplish great things with little or no opposition. Because they are not expecting opposition, they usually overeact or blow it completely out of proportion when they encounter opposition.
"But is came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews."
Nehemiah 4:1
Nobody talks about a nonentity. No one opposes a nobody; There is no opposition as long as you are not doing something substantial with your life. But decide to do something with your life and you will see allhell break loose.
Your relatives become your adversaries. In places where approval was takenfor granted, it will no longer be there. Do not become preoccupied with the opposition. Master your opposition and do not let your opposition master you. Whatever you allow to dominate your thoughts and mind is what will eventually begin to manifest in your life. It is so easy to magnify the obstacle. Obstacles will move away when you refuse to give in to it. The worst possible way to treat your adversaries is to take them too seriously.
"So built we the wall and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof for the people had a mind to work."
Nehemiah 4:6
The greatest tribute you can give to your adversaries is to allow them to distract you. It is important to recognize that the reason for opposition to an idea or a vision is to distract you. When you are distracted, the purpose of the opposition has been served.
You can't be defeated until you are distracted. This is a powerful tool of the enemy. The enemy knows he can't defeat you all by himself. That is why he uses 'devices.' Distraction is one of his strongest and most powerful devices to defeat the believer. You need to see through the enemy so that you can be victorious. We can see this truth illustrated in the life of Nehemiah.

10 Attributes of a Humble Leader - RON EDMONSON

Almost a decade ago I recruited a mentor. He was more than 20 years older than me, had been widely successful, and was extremely respected in our community. I admired his business success, his family life, and his standing in the community — but I didn’t ask him to mentor me in any of these areas.
I wanted him to mentor me because of the humility I observed in his life.
If you didn’t know he was successful — you would have never known it from him.
Humility is a desired, but often neglected characteristic of good, servant leadership. It seems in the day of platform-building and social media the more we promote ourselves online, the more the characteristic of humility is being forgotten and certainly is less celebrated. (As one who has an online presence, I consistently sense God reminding me that I’ve been on the bottom and I can return there.)
Pride is a struggle for many leaders (author included), but we must strive to bring humility to our leadership roles.
What is humility in leadership? What are some characteristics of a humble leader?
Of course, the real example of humility is Jesus. And, as I already knew, He was the mentor of my earthly mentor. Spending time with this mentor I learned a few things I am still striving to live. I haven’t mastered them, but I have better targets.
Here are 10 attributes of a humble leader:
Dangerous Trust
Humility always demands a certain level of trust. Obviously, for a believer, it begins with a trust in God. But, a humble leader is willing to take a risk on others also, trusting them with the sacredness of the vision, even at the chance they may be disappointed with the outcome.
Sincere investment
Humble leaders know the vision is bigger and will last longer than they will. Wow! That’s a hard reality, isn’t it? But, knowing this humble leaders willingly invest in others, raising up and maturing new leaders.
Gentle, but strong
One can’t be a leader and be weak. The two — weakness and leadership — don’t go together. Every position of leadership will provide a challenge to the leader, but humble leaders have learned the balance between being gentle and remaining strong. (Think Jesus!)
Readily admits mistakes
Everyone makes mistakes. In fact, we often learn more through failure than through success. The humble leader is quick to admit when he or she has done wrong and deals with the fault-out without casting blame or making excuses. And, they seek forgiveness when the mistakes they make impact others.
Forgives easily
Leadership is filled with disappointment; often at the expense of other’s mistakes. A humble leader forgives easily, remembering how many times he or she has been forgiven.
Quickly diverts attention
We all like to be recognized for accomplishments, but a humble leader is quick to divert attention to others, sharing the limelight for successes with those, who many times, may have even had more to do with the success than the leader did. They celebrate the success of others louder than personal success
Remains thankful
A humble leader is appreciative of the input of others into his or her leadership. So much so, that a humble leader naturally praises the actions of others far more than the time spent patting themselves on the back for personal accomplishments. Humble leaders recognize that all good gifts come from above.
Recognizes limitations
No one can do everything. A humble has the ability to say, “I can’t do that or I’m not the one who should“.
Shares authority
Humble leaders don’t take all the key assignments for themselves, but gives out prime responsibility and authority to people he or she is leading.
Invites feedback
A humble leader wants to learn from his or her mistakes and wants to continually see improvement. Humble leaders initiate other’s suggestions and feedback, not waiting until complaints come, but personally asking for the input.
Humility is not putting yourself down as a leader. It’s ultimately recognizing who you are in view of Christ and others. The danger in not being a humble leader or considering ourselves better than others, is that one day we may be “humbled”. Many of us learn humility the hard way.

DON’T PUT YOUR TRUST IN MEN - Dr. Segun Oshinaga

“Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.”
Psalms 146:3
For as long as we look to men for help, we are going to be disappointed over and over again. Princes are men of power who ordinarily should be able to help if we can win their interest. The truth is that men are calculating and want to know what they stand to gain if they help you. If there is nothing to be gained, many will leave you high and dry.
Not only are men calculating; they are also selfish. They are mostly concerned about their own comfort and progress. Most people have no interest whatsoever in your comfort and progress and care less what happens to you. It is only when your interest becomes their interest, your comfort is important to their comfort that you can expect some action, not for your comfort and interest but for their comfort and interest.
“Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:”
Psalms 146:5
‘Happy is he that has the God of Jacob for his help.’ Powerful! In other words, unhappy is he that has the prince for his help. One of the reasons why God is the only true helper is that He is unchanging. Men are driven by various interests and considerations. They have no control over their own affairs. They can be moved, shaken and overruled. When their circumstances change, their promises no longer carry any force. They may mean well but when they are shaken, their promises are shaken.
God is dependable because He can’t be shaken but shakes all things. Stop trusting your destiny to princes, people and positions. God is able to bring together people, princes and positions to deliver on His promises in your life. Trust Him today!

IS GOD STILL ANGRY WITH ME prt 5?

MY FRIENDS, MY FOES

Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful, Proverbs 27:6

I remember telling you about my revival, the mountain experience, what followed it was hum...
Energized by the Holy Ghost for maximum production, I set out to pull down the strongholds of darkness but get a shocker from the lockers of those I called friends.

Those days in campus, we act as if rapture is a minute away, though deep inside many, is the doubt or conviction that He is not coming back.
The pseudo-hypocrisy stood his ground like Goliath the day my tongue caught the coal of fire from the throne of grace.

A brethren among many confusion stood to ask why many of the spirit -kokos (the term we used for devoted brethren) live pretentious life, angel in the church and devil at home. I only stood to show him through the scripture that Jesus and the disciples have for-warned us of these days, the love of many shall wax cold, that the most important thing is for us to focus on Jesus  not human who can falter any time.

Like a corn turning pop, reactions flawed what is supposedly a good question, brimstone emitting from the eyes of the holiest of holy, ki re? (what is this?). He is abusing us! why are you concern with our own lives? you are a pharisee! you have backslided!, touch not my anointed.... ko ra da da, sun mon dere (speaking in tongues).

Bewildered by the reaction, I called for an Exco meeting, to my face, brethren removed their shirts, some to their boxers, shouting at the top of their voices, on top wetin (local slang) aiye O !

My conclusion, a true test of character is admitting whom you are rather than pretend to be whom you are not because any twist from a corner can expose your innermost person.

What is the problem? the question - my reply - or something else... just watch out!

God Can Do Both Great And Small - Dr Segun Oshinaga

“And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.”
2 Chronicles 14:11
God can do so much with so little. Whether it is a little problem or earth-shaking calamity, divine help is always available to those who know and walk with God. It is God’s help that enables us to snatch victory out of the jaw of defeat. Without God’s help and mercy, it is possible to snatch defeat out of the jaw of victory.
The story of Asa is instructive for us. He was confronted with a larger and superior army. He knew if it was soldier for soldier, he would be defeated. He cried out to the Lord for help. Maybe you can identify with Asa today. People with far more influence and resources are standing in your way to purpose and destiny; An implacable enemy who has vowed to destroy you; a problem that makes your brain seem like an empty mash; an assignment that requires far more time than you have; whatever it is, there is help for you if only you will seek the Lord.
“So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.”
2 Chronicles 14:12
In answer to the prayer of Asa, help came from heaven. God over-rode all natural laws to deliver victory for His people. If only you will hand over that problem to God today. The problem many of us have is that we are limited by natural laws. We allow our fears and senses to trap us in defeat. We become limited by what we see and hear. We surrender too quickly. I may look bad and victory may be inconceivable. The enemy’s threats and show of force may be real but divine help is just a prayer away.
God delights in coming through for His people. God is an expert in turning seeming failure to success. Never give up till God comes through. Hang in there, help is on the way.

THE MINISTRY, WE HAVE DESPISED!

ACTS 5:5-16
The believers of yester-years spend their time, shaking the hand of God. Moving mountain through intercession.

Peter would have died in prison if the brethren kept mute, in an accord they prayed, God sent His angel to liberate their leader.

Selfishness have ate deep into us, we are too concern about ourselves. The wealth will have today will soon diminish if we refused to pray.

The Scripture in 1 John 4:4 clearly says God in us is greater than everything in the world but we have failed to exercised this authority.

Jesus said whatsoever we asked in His name, God will grant us. Why keep quiet as some people hold us in the throat.

Cursing our leaders will bring no progress.
John Knox asked that God should deliver Scotland to Him, Elijah alone brought down the reign of Ahab.

We are no longer doing the ministry of intercession, we have being carried away with self. The 'I' mentality is killing.
Do you know that some parents don't even pray for their children. Why did we abandon one of our major responsibilities.

If Jesus said we are the light of the world, He meant we are game changer, we are not thermostat but  catalyst.
Our existence should change situations. We are disappointing God if we keep quiet or join others to prophesy evil to this nation.

Nigerian is not evil, our economy will work again, our leaders will lead us right. The saboteurs will repent and work for the greatness of our dear nation, Andy Ubah is already doing this.

If the Holy Spirit kept interceding for us as recorded in Romans 8:26-27, why are we not doing the same for our nation and our brethren.

Let me show you list of scripture on intercession... 2 Cor 1:11, Phillipians 1:19, Psalm 122:6, 1 Timothy 2:1, Ephesians 6:8, Romans 10:1, James 5:14.

Having said this, without us doing this simple task we are disappointing God. We can decide the destiny of  Nigeria if we are return to this ministry we had despised.

I am A.T. Joel, an apostle of this great GRACE. I Prophesy by the authority in the name of Jesus, Nigeria will be great again and we will laugh.

ALL HELPS COME FROM GOD PRT 2 - DR. SEGUN OSHINAGA

But to secure the help of God, it is vital to seek it. David said –
‘I will lift up my eyes.’
The danger when trouble beckons is that we are often confused and don’t know where to turn for help. Defeat is not too far from a state of confusion. David had a cure for that. He was not going to be running helter-skelter, seeking for solution in hundred different directions. When all hell breaks loose as surely as they sometimes do in our lives, how do we react? Do we react in fear and shame or respond in faith and confidence?
“Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.”
Psalms 27:3
We are often terrified by the activities of the enemy and become fearful and timid. We must know God enough to know that He will come through for us.
‘My heart shall not fear’ – is an expression of faith and deep understanding of the power of the Lord to help. Let your heart not fear or fail but be confident of divine intervention in your situation. That reminds me of one of my most favourite songs – ‘I don’t know how, I don’t know when but He will do it again.’ God may not work according to my time-table but He sure works according to His purpose and plan for my life.
I dare you today to trust in God’s sense of timing and purpose. When you get in trouble, as you will sometimes, seek His help. No matter how bad it looks, we can trust Him to make it alright.

ALL HELPS COME FROM GOD - DR Segun Oshinaga

“Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.”
Psalms 60:11
All help comes from God – ALL! Ofcourse, He can use people, things or situations to come to our assistance in the time of need but He the Lord is the one who sends the help. If God does not help you, no one else will no matter how pathetic the situation may be.
We all need to look up to God at all times for help and support. When things get tough and we don’t know what else to do, remember that God is your present help in trouble. We all find it easy to expect help from men. But if there is anything you can be sure of, it is that men fail even when they mean well. That is why they are men. They can die, fall ill or just simply forget. They can have problems of their own that makes them forget other people’s problems. A thousand and one reasons can be given why they won’t keep their promises.
“And he said, if the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? Out of the barn floor, or out of the winepress?”
2 Kings 6:27
It has been my experience that many times we expect help from certain quarters and get disappointed and then God shows up from a different, unexpected quarters. Our faith or trust must never, ever be in the promises of men but of God. Men fail but God is faithful always.
If we trust the Lord, He can use anything – a man, an animal, a thing, a stranger. Just remember that there is no limit to what or who God can use in your situation. There is no extent that God cannot go to deliver you. Every time you confront difficulties, just remember that – VAIN IS THE HELP OF MAN.
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”
Psalms 121:2
As believers it is important to always remember that not only is the Lord our helper but that He is willing and ready to help us no matter the difficulties that confront us. David was a worthy model of trust in the ability and willingness of Jehovah to be there for us when we need Him.

MAXIMIZING THE GRACE OF GOD

2 Corinthians 6:1

No Christian is bankrupt, we weigh more than what the world thought we worth.
The difference between us and them is the mantle of power placed upon us through the grace release via the ever flowing blood of the Lord Jesus, Ephesians 4:7-8.

Paul in the epistle to the Corinthians said, we must not receive this grace in vain.. he is telling us to unleash the power of possibility in us upon everything around. We are catalyst and should effect the perfect change  our world needs.

Gone are the days when we should fear what the devil will do, he is strictly under our control and judgement. Romans 8:37. Whatsoever Jesus did we can do.

To maximize your potential in Christ:

Master your FEAR, 2 Timothy 1:7; No force is as strong as the power of the Holy Ghost in us. We are more than what the devil can handle if we stand up to what we are in Him. Fear is Forget Everything And Run/ Forget Everything And Rise. the choice is yours.

Move in the SPIRIT, Romans 8:1-5; you can’t understand the power of God except you tap into the spiritual reality of His movement. The flesh profit nothing, it kills, distracts and consumes those who lives by it. The man of God, Elisha spoke  from the spiritual diary of God when the most terrible drought almost took all from the Israel.

Master the Word, Jeremiah 23:29, the word of God is the defined authority of God, all we are is spelt in His word, we can change a lot applying the oracle of God. You word-worth spells your world-worth. We are the game changer through the words.

Mount your Faith, Galatians 2:20, James 1:6; Christians without faith worth nothing in the face of the world. Your faith can change your fate. You can’t be fat beyond your faith. Faith is an enlarger. You can not travel far beyond your faith. It determines how far get in life.

Master the use of God’s Power, Luke 10:19, When Moses had the rod with him at Midian, it was an ordinary rod but when God came into it, it becomes an instrument of Power. If you begin to leave in dominion, the devil is in trouble. See this powerful scripture as we round this great message Obadiah 1:21 .
