ALL HELPS COME FROM GOD - DR Segun Oshinaga

“Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.”
Psalms 60:11
All help comes from God – ALL! Ofcourse, He can use people, things or situations to come to our assistance in the time of need but He the Lord is the one who sends the help. If God does not help you, no one else will no matter how pathetic the situation may be.
We all need to look up to God at all times for help and support. When things get tough and we don’t know what else to do, remember that God is your present help in trouble. We all find it easy to expect help from men. But if there is anything you can be sure of, it is that men fail even when they mean well. That is why they are men. They can die, fall ill or just simply forget. They can have problems of their own that makes them forget other people’s problems. A thousand and one reasons can be given why they won’t keep their promises.
“And he said, if the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? Out of the barn floor, or out of the winepress?”
2 Kings 6:27
It has been my experience that many times we expect help from certain quarters and get disappointed and then God shows up from a different, unexpected quarters. Our faith or trust must never, ever be in the promises of men but of God. Men fail but God is faithful always.
If we trust the Lord, He can use anything – a man, an animal, a thing, a stranger. Just remember that there is no limit to what or who God can use in your situation. There is no extent that God cannot go to deliver you. Every time you confront difficulties, just remember that – VAIN IS THE HELP OF MAN.
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”
Psalms 121:2
As believers it is important to always remember that not only is the Lord our helper but that He is willing and ready to help us no matter the difficulties that confront us. David was a worthy model of trust in the ability and willingness of Jehovah to be there for us when we need Him.
