THE REWARD IS NEAR, HOLD ON

"And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.
Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour" (Esther  6:3, 11).

There was a man who always did his very best for everyone he came across. He often demonstrated incredible selflessness in his relationship with people, even though he was not a man of great means. He was genuinely altruistic, not doing any of these things in the hope of personal gains. He simply seemed to have a passion for helping others. However, for all the good that he did, his case was not much different from that of the poor wise man who by his wisdom delivered his city, but was neither acknowledged nor remembered (Ecclesiastes 9:15).

The above could very well be the intro to the story of biblical Mordecai. He brought up an orphan just like he would his own child. The orphan became the queen in a great kingdom and you would have thought that Mordecai's life would change immediately for the better. But the father of a great queen remained a gateman and he never complained. Also, Mordecai saved the life of the King when he exposed the wicked plan to assassinate the King. One would have expected that a great, life transforming reward should have followed such a patriotic act. But nothing happened.

Friends, sometimes it seems there will be no reward for your good works. Sometimes it appears that it really doesn't pay to be righteous, to walk in integrity, to be kind to others and to serve God. But I want to assure you that nothing goes unrewarded in this world. The word of God says, "Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded" (2 Chronicles 15:7). And again, here is a direct word to you from the Lord, "Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD" (Jeremiah 31:16).

Therefore, I make bold to tell you, your day of reward is coming. Your time of celebration will definitely come. Your accusers shall be part of those who will clap for you in that day. Your traducers will be among them that will line up to honour you with great honours in that day. Then you will know that your labours of righteousness have not been in vain and that the price of integrity you have paid over the years have been worth it.

Please don't give up doing the good you know to do because people seem not to appreciate you. Remember that God Himself is the Rewarder. I assure you that He is taking record and at the appropriate time when it will pay you most, your reward shall come.
