"For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will
sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease" (Job
14:7).
I hear in my spirit, "there is still hope". This is the word of the Lord to you today. There is hope.
There
are a number of reasons why you should believe with me that there is
hope. First of all, there is hope because you still have life. The Bible
says that the living have hope. Your waking and uprising this morning
morning is a great sign that there is hope for you. Every movement of
the members of your body is an indication that there is hope.
Secondly,
there is still hope because the word of God says so. The word of God is
the word of hope. Indeed, whatever things you find in the Bible "were
written for our learning, so that we through patience and comfort of the
Scriptures might have hope" (Romans 15:4). Think of Abraham who when he
had no reason to hope, continued to believe in hope that he would be
the father of many nations, just because the word of God gave him that
assurance (Romans 4:18). I want you to know that if it is written in the Scriptures, it is possible and you can hope for it.
But
the biggest reason why there is still hope is that there is still God
and God has not retired from the business of divinely intervening in
people's lives. It is true that when there is life, there is hope. But
it is even truer that when there is God, there certainly is great hope.
When there is life and there is God in that life, you've got the
brightest of hope. It is to brighten your hope that the Bible tells you
that with God, all things are possible. It is to strengthen your hope
that the Scriptures say that all things work together for good to them
that love God and are the called according to His purpose. It is to
rescue you from despondency, disillusionment and despair that we are
told that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.
God's love is the greatest reason for our hope.
Therefore,
my dear friends, keep hope alive because with God, there is hope for
you. Listen, if there is hope for a tree, there is big hope for the man
or woman reading this message because you are of greater value than a
tree. Jesus said to be of good cheer because whatever happens, there is
still hope. I need you to hear it in your spirit as well: there is still
hope for you to accomplish your goals and be all that you've always
wanted to be. You are not finished and it's not over yet. Don't give up
on that good dream that God has given you. Don't give up on life. Don't
give up on yourself. And surely, you must not give up on God because God
hasn't given up on you. "Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen
your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD", says the Spirit of God
(Psalms 31:24).
"Now the God of hope fill you
with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through
the power of the Holy Ghost" (Romans 15:13).
