NO EXPIRY DATE

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away" (Matthew 24:35).

The word of God bears no expiry date. The word never ceases to work. The word that God has spoken thousands of years ago will continue to be active for thousands of years to come. As long as people can mix their faith with the word, an impact is bound to be created. Any time your faith is ready, you will find the word still there, ready to be activated. The word of God never dies, neither does it ever become impotent. It will continue to echo through all generations. It lives and abides forever (1 Peter 1:23).

The reason is simple. The word is a metaphor for a divine Being whose life has no end. The Bible says in the infinite beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God (John 1:1). The word of God is God Himself. The written or spoken word is only a physical expression of the living Word - the living God. In every Scripture, there is a divine personality. The word of God is a living organism. The word of God is the breath of God. Treat every Scripture as God expressing Himself to you and you are well positioned to experience the awesome power of the word.

As you open a new chapter in the year, I want to encourage you with this firm assurance. Every word of God spoken to you, every prophecy you have received, every promise God has given you, will remain in force and will be useful for you as long as it is called today. Mark the word of God. Hold on to it. Believe it with all your heart. Read it again. Listen to it again if you have it in audio format. God has not just spoken for your today; His words are targeted to affect your entire life and lifetime. This is because God's word is eternal.

Friends, I give you this blessed assurance once again. Because God cannot fail, His words also cannot fail. There are angels attached to each word of prophecy or promise. Those angels are on full time duty to ensure that God's word is fulfilled. Therefore, like Paul, I say to you my dear friends, "be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me" (Acts 27:25). Blessed indeed are those who believe, for there shall be a performance of those things which were told them from the Lord. Amen!
