Jesus
had led three of His disciples into a mountain where He was
transfigured before them. The Bible says His face did shine as the sun,
and His raiment was white as the light. Then Moses and Elijah suddenly
appeared on the scene, talking with Him. This spiritual encounter
completely overwhelmed the disciples and they fell on their faces. But
the Jesus came and touched them, with an instruction to get up and come
out of their shock. That was the Master's touch. It was a touch that
produced a lifting. That touch brought strength to the disciples,
raising them from the ground and setting them back on their feet.
Today,
the Lord is still in the business of touching people and putting them
back on their feet. That invisible hand of the Lord is available
everywhere to touch those who would believe and make them whole.
Sometimes, it is troubles or persecutions that overwhelm us and get us
down. It could even be the stress of life and making a living that gets
the better of us and knocks us down. Maybe it's your business, your
marriage, or even your spiritual life that is broken down. The Master's
touch can fix it and put smiles back on your face. The Master's touch
can reverse the irreversible. It can bring hope where there is no hope.
The
Master's touch can raise anything, change anything and fix anything, no
matter how badly it has broken down. It can even raise the dead as it
happened in Luke 7:14
in the city of Nain where a widow's only son had died and was being
taken for burial. Then Jesus came to town and touched the bier. The
Master's touch stopped the burial procession forthwith and also raised
the boy back to life. Today, my prayer is that whatever is dead in your
life shall receive the Master's touch and come back to life. I am
praying and believing God with you that the Lord will touch you and get
you back on your feet.
It is also very common
for the Master to touch people specifically for healing. Indeed, most of
the time the Bible records that Jesus touched people, it was to heal
them from one disease condition or the other. There are many examples in
the Gospel accounts. In Matthew 8:3, Jesus put forth his hand and
touched a leper. Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Only the Master
can touch the untouchable and do the impossible. In Matthew 8:15, Jesus touched Peter's mother-in-law who had a fever. The fever left her immediately and she arose, and ministered unto them.
Let
me conclude by drawing your attention to something significant on the
case of Peter's mother-in-law. I want you to observe that Peter was the
one who had a direct relationship with the Master. Here, however, the
mother-in-law became a beneficiary of Peter's connection with the
Master. From this, we see that those who are related to those who have a
relationship with the Master can also benefit from the Master's touch.
The Master's hand can reach to your spouse, your children, your parents,
your in-laws, your friends and neighbours. Today, you can believe God
for your loved ones as well, that they might receive the Master's
touch.
