"For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world" (Hebrews 4:3).
The
other day, I saw an artist painting a particular work. It was in a
competition. At the first, I could not make any meaning out of the
patches on the board. So also were the judges who were already thinking
of telling the artist to step aside. But eventually, the artist finished
his work, turned the board upside-down, and what emerged was an
incredible masterpiece of an artwork. Here's the point. The work that
was begun before our very eyes was already finished in the mind of the
artist.
Would you be willing to believe with
me that God has already finished His works concerning your life? The
Bible says that His works were finished from the foundation of the
world. That includes all the solutions you ever needed from God. It
means that long before your grandparents were born, the issues of the
life you will live had been thought through by God. He had considered
the challenges you will face and the needs you will have (including the
present ones), and He had made appropriate provisions for you to triumph
in life. All that remains is for you to walk into what God has
accomplished for you in Christ Jesus.
For
example, if you are praying to God for a marriage partner, it is certain
that the answer to your prayer is already in existence. God is not just
about creating the man or woman you will marry. He or she had been born
long before the idea of marriage ever came into your mind. The
materials with which you will build your house are already in existence.
The truth is that on the side of God, all things are ready for you to
have the fulfilled life you have always wanted. Today, I pray for you to
receive grace to walk in that which God has already prepared for you.
Friends,
the script of your life had been written from the foundation of the
world. The problem with most of us is that we want to live our lives
without the One who wrote our script. When you try to live independent
of the God who gave you life and has mapped out the path you should
take, you are bound to run into troubles. The path God mapped out for
you and me is the path of honour, glory, dignity and victory. It will
take God Himself to guide our feet along that path.
This
is where submission and obedience to God come in. This is where faith,
trusting in the Lord with the whole of our heart becomes an absolute
necessity. Today, I pray that God, in His infinite mercy will bring you
to that place of submission to His majesty and obedience to His
commands. I pray that faith will rise up in your heart to lay hold on
the promises of God and appropriate them for your peace, in Jesus
Christ's name.
