EVIL,BAD, AND WORST 'HYPOCRISY'

"You can't keep your true self hidden forever; before long you'll be
exposed. You can't hide behind a religious mask forever; sooner or
later the mask will slip and your true face will be known. You can't
whisper one thing in private and preach the opposite in public; the
day's coming when those whispers will be repeated all over town" (Luke
12:2-3, The Message BIBLE).

Hypocrisy is bad and detestable in every respect. It was one thing that Jesus condemned very harshly in the lifestyle of the Pharisees. Jesus also warned His followers severally against living in hypocrisy like the religious leaders of those days. A life of pretence is unbecoming of a child of God. Friend, you must labour to be true to God, to yourself, and to your neighbour.

But the scene today is hardly any different from what it was in the days of the Pharisees and Sadducees. Perhaps the situation today is worse than it was in those days. Now we have pure bred satanists standing on the altar of the living God as ministers of the gospel. We have armed robbers pretending to be saints, serving as workers in the church of Christ. There are pastors and elders having two wives in separate cities, the one not knowing the existence of the other, while the church sees the man as having only one wife.

It is to no purpose to live a life of pretence, for, sooner or later, truth will come out. Remember that a lying tongue is but for a moment. If you speak in darkness that which is unbecoming you, and is inconsistent with your public professions, it shall be heard in the light some day. Some way or other it shall be discovered, a bird of the air shall carry the voice or report the deed, and your folly and falsehood will be made manifest.

Friends, be sure that the iniquity that is concealed with a show of piety will be discovered, perhaps in this world, as it was in the case of Judas and Simon the sorcerer. But if not now, at furthest in the great day, when the secrets of all hearts shall be made manifest (Romans 2:16). If men's religion prevail not to conquer and cure the wickedness of their hearts, it shall not always serve for a cloak. The day is coming when hypocrites will be stripped of their fig leaves.
